The discussion was really interesting. To understand cultures and values in other countries,I think it important to show an attitude of acceptance without trying to exclude them by misunderstandings and prejudice.
By the way,I am in Boston staying at Longwood Inn which is very cozy small hotel near the Harvard medical school.
Boston is wonderful city. There's a lot to see and foods are nice.I went Museum of Fine Arts today and going to sea food restaurant at Prudential Center.
Lastly,Thank you for accepting me as a member of MMCE. I had a wondeful time with you all.Hope to see you again!!
with much love Keiko

MR.Ryan Miller told us that he was very surprised that Japanese students took naps during their classes. He said those attitudes are unthinkable in the U.S.and they show less respect toward their teachers. Then we qestioned other guests about students'naps in each guest's country. To our sueprize, we got almost the same answers as Mr.Miller’comments.They said they consider those attitudes unacceptable, and also they feel unplesant when they take classes together with sleeping students, moreover they added they cannot understand why Japanese teachers warn those students. We could spend very significat time to have contact with guests from various nations. Thank you so much Mr.James Hall for having set the meeting. And thanks a lot all the guests.

I thought our image of foreign countries is usually made by some mass media and it's a almost missunderstanding. After the discussion, I found there were many differences with other countries on various points, especially food ciluture.
We can't change past historical events. Some problems are very seirious and there are some unforgettable rhings. But,I try to accept and consider them seriously.
Lastly I'd like to thank all MMCE members.

I could get a lot of knowledge from guest. Especially, I'm really interested in love.
All most all countries are not agree with arrenged marridge. There are many people who do arrenged marridge in Japan.
I'm really shy, so thier tales made me embarrassed.

I enjoyed the discussions. Each guests had different opinions.
The most interesting opinion was Ms.Aerita Dongak's talk. Russians have nationality in the country, like a passport. Our Japanese don't have anything like that. So, I was surprised that one country have many nationalities. But, Ms.Aelita talked that naturally, I felt the world is wide...

Lastly, I am surprised at Keiko's comment. In Boston!!
お体に気をつけてくださいね。

I want to write a comment about surprising things by listening to presentation by Aelita Dongak,Russia. Our group investigate Russia.
First, I had a image that there is almost occidental in Russia. But actualy, there are many Oriental in south of Siberia. And there are many kinds of people about more than 100.
Second, nouth of Russia is very very cold place. In winter, the temperature is sixty degrees below zero!!
Third,Siberian Railway is very long! It has 9000km!!I realized that Russia was really big.
Lastly,I enjoyed this class and I learned many things about other country and our country Japan.I could discover new things about culture and notice about misunderstanding toward other country.Thank you so much, mmce members and tha guests!!

I could learn a lot of things from guests.Especially,my group's guest Mr.Ryan taught me about his hometown or the U.S.
His hometown is Michigan. He said that this town is the country and there is only 2 fast food shops, but this is peaceful town. So I thought that I want to go to Michigan.
Other guests also taught me a lot of things, and I was misunderstanding about their country or culture,I think. So,I'm glad to learn their right country's characteristic or culture.
Thank a lot guests and MMCE members.

I learned a lot from each guests. My images of each countries were different from real. So I thought we couldn't understand about each countries without visiting there or talking people who are from there. So I want to go around the world and see many things to understand real culture, right now !!

I could deepen my knowledge about countries so I'm lucky.
I was impressed with the fact that taking nap during the class is very rude in other countries. I know taking a nap is rude, of course. But if you do such a thing in other countries, you were scolded by teacher, and students!!I felt students should more respect for teachers in Japan.
Thank you for all guests!
